The Moment That Changes Everything
One knee. One ring. One breathless second of "yes." And it only happens once.
There's no redo on a proposal. You get one chance to capture the look on their face — the surprise, the tears, the laughter, the moment everything shifts. That's why proposal photography is my absolute favourite thing to shoot, and it's what Lumens & Grace Photography is known for.
My approach is simple: I arrive early, I find the perfect vantage point, and I stay completely out of sight until the moment has passed. You won't have to worry about where to stand, whether I'm ready, or whether the shot will be there. I'll have scouted the location with you beforehand, planned the timing, and positioned myself so that when you drop to one knee, every emotion is captured — without either of you even noticing I'm there.
After the "yes," the real magic begins. The first embrace, the ring going on, the stunned realisation that this is actually happening. I stay to capture all of it — candid, unposed, and completely real.

We had a great experience with Adrian as he helped capture a very special surprise engagement on Vennel lane in Edinburgh.
Adrian couldn't do enough in regards to advising best time of day, location etc and when it came to the day he was in position in plenty of time to capture the shot.
The photos were amazing, what I'd had in my mind Adrian helped to make a reality. We can't thank him enough for making a special moment everlasting.

This is the most common worry — and it's exactly why we do a pre-shoot consultation. We'll plan the spot together, and I'll arrive early to find the best angle while blending into the surroundings. Most clients tell me their partner had no idea anyone was there until after the moment.

Life doesn't follow a script, and that's okay. I'm positioned and ready from before you arrive, so whether you're a minute early or running late, I'm there and capturing everything.
On the day itself, we'll be in constant contact by text or phone. If you need to stall, speed things up, or change the plan entirely, just send me a message and I'll adapt in real time. You're not doing this alone — I'm right there with you, just out of sight.

Absolutely! Some of my favourite proposal spots include the Vennel Steps, Calton Hill, Dean Village, and Circus Lane. But the best location is one that means something to you both — I'm happy to shoot wherever your story leads.

Yes. West Lothian and Edinburgh are covered at no extra cost. For locations further afield, a modest travel fee may apply to cover mileage and parking. Just let me know where you have in mind and I will confirm any costs before you book — no surprises, except the one you're planning. (That one, I'll capture beautifully.)
