Celebrate the Yes
You've said it. Now let's capture the joy of being engaged — relaxed, natural, and completely you.
An engagement session is about more than just photos for your save-the-dates (though you'll get plenty of those). It's a chance to celebrate this special season together — before the wedding planning takes over, before the big day arrives. Just the two of you, in a place that feels meaningful, with no pressure and no stiff posing.
I keep engagement sessions relaxed and fun. We'll wander, chat, and let the moments happen naturally. Whether you're laughing together on Calton Hill, strolling through the Vennel Steps, or choosing a spot that's uniquely yours, the goal is simple: photos that look and feel like you — not like a photoshoot.
For couples planning a wedding, this is also a wonderful way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day. By the time your wedding arrives, you'll already know how I work — and I'll already know how to bring out your best.

We had an absolutely wonderful time with Adrian. He was incredibly friendly from the very beginning, and we felt comfortable right away. He had his own creative ideas for the photos but was also open to the ideas we brought with us. We definitely felt that he had a clear plan and made great use of the time. The final results speak for themselves — we love the photos, and they are a beautiful memory... Thank you so much!

Engagement Session FAQ
Where should we have our session?
1
Edinburgh is full of stunning spots — the Vennel Steps, Calton Hill, Dean Village, the Royal Mile, and Princes Street Gardens are all favourites. But the best location is one that means something to you. Where did you first meet? Where was your first date? Let's make it meaningful.
What should we wear?
2
There's no strict dress code, but I always recommend wearing something that feels genuinely you. Coordinating colours (rather than matching exactly) tends to photograph beautifully - think complementary tones rather than identical outfits. Avoid very busy patterns or large logos, as they can distract from your faces. If you're stuck, I'm happy to chat through your wardrobe ideas before the shoot. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident.
Can we bring our dog / kids / props?
3
Of course! It's your session. If your dog is part of your story, bring them along. If you want to incorporate something meaningful — a favourite book, a bottle from the vineyard where you got engaged, your save-the-date sign — let's do it.
We’re camera-shy. Is that a problem?
4
Not at all. Most people are. My approach is to keep things moving, give gentle direction without stiff posing, and let genuine moments unfold. You won't be asked to hold awkward poses — we'll walk, talk, and have fun. The best photos come from real interactions, not forced ones.
How far in advance should we book?
5
Ideally 4–6 weeks before you'd like the session, especially during peak season (May–October). If you need photos for save-the-dates, book early enough to allow editing time before your mailing deadline.
